Have you been looking for a fun and affordable gift to give your significant other,  family, or a friend?

This year I had a lot of fun putting together this gift for my friends and family that I got to take photos of over this year!

Step 1: Gather the supplies.

You will need:

  • Your prints (square prints plus a 8×10)
  • Twine.
  • Mini clothespins
  • Frame.
  • Gift Wrapping supplies.
  • Christmas card.

Step 2: Purchase your prints and supplies.

I got this frame from the Dollar General! This is one of those hidden finds, no one thinks to go to a dollar store to buy frames but I am telling you its the perfect place to get frames up to the size 8×10 for super cheap! -$1

You will also need to order your 8×10 print. If you are like me you want a high quality print to ensure that the photos are represented in the best way! I got this print from Mpix which is actually a really affordable place for the quality you are getting. I love getting prints from here! -$2

Now you are going to need to order your smaller prints. I picked squares because they are equal in size and look organized all lined up together in a row but you can also get regular vertical and horizontal prints as well. I get them from Social Print Studio because they use amazing thick paper with clean white borders and they are also super affordable! Price may vary depending on how many prints you want to include but I averaged about 10 square photos per gift. $12 for 24 prints

Step 3: Measure Twine and clip on clothespins.

Next you are going to want to want to measure enough twine for them to later clip their photos on to. Length will vary depending on how many prints you include. When you are done, wrap the twine around photos binding them together and tie the ends with a nice bow.

After I was done wrapping the twine and tying a bow I clipped the clothes pins to the back of the prints. You can purchase twine and mini clothespins at pretty much any craft store but I bought mine in off amazon! You can get them in bulk for pretty cheap!

Step 4: Wrap your Gift.

Also consider that instead of just sticking your gift in a gift bag, spend some time hand wrapping it! Don’t worry I know we are not all naturals and it took some time for me to get the hang of it but the gift will look so much more beautiful and thoughtful so don’t be afraid to get creative with it! The tutorial I used to help me out is here but I also had thee Kyle Sommer herself in person to help me out so I had a little advantage! 😉

Now make sure you don’t forget to include a card with a sweet note as well! I got this card from Sommer Letter Co. She has many designs you can choose from and you can check out the photos I took of them here! -$2

Step 5: Give your gift!

How easy was that? You are done! Make sure to explain in your card or in person that the twine is to be used to hang their pictures from with the attached clothespins!

Good places to hang pictures from are fireplace mantels, old window or door frames, headboards, tv stands, shelves. etc. Below are some i- phone examples of how I display some of my photos around the house and in my office!

Behind the Scenes!

Here are some fun behind the scenes photos! Willow always likes to get as close as she can to us, even when we are trying to take photos! I think its because she has just gotten so accustomed to getting her photos taken by me all the time that she is a natural! If you missed her adorable Christmas photos from this year you can check them out here!Turn your wedding photos into the best gift ever, Affordable christmas gift ideas_0008.jpgThe amazing Kyle Sommer, owner of Sommer Letter Co.  (where those amazing Christmas cards from above are from), helped me out on styling the photos for this tutorial when her and her husband were over last weekend! And there’s Willow getting awfully close again! 😉
