A lot of you know know that this fall and last few months for me and my family have been really hard. Losing my sister has been one of the hardest and most trying times in my life but also one of the most growing.
Though it has been hard, I have really loved capturing and choosing to notice the beauty around me during it. Something that helped me cope with my sister’s death was simply taking walks with either my husband, a close friend, or my sister and mom around Fort Wayne. I would carry my camera around my neck and with no agenda or place I had to be I simply enjoyed the beauty around me and captured it for fun! It was freeing, it was therapeutic, and it truly turned my thoughts to a place of joy and comfort even when everything else didn’t make sense!
I am really delayed in posting this but here are some of my favorite photos from some walks I went on this October and November. I hope their beauty can be an encouragement and comfort to you in whatever you are going through!
It’s easy to get fixated on the bad things that are happening to us or around us but we can choose to see the beauty and joy around us through it!
My life verse right now and what I am constantly repeating to myself:
“So we do no lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are temporary, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
